The purpose of the attached Resolution is to suspend the closing hours at Hummel Park Nature
Center, 3033 Hummel Park Road, for a Family Campout event to be held on Saturday,
September 19, 2015.
The Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Public Property Department is authorized pursuant to
Section 21-1 of the Municipal Code to establish rules regulating the use of parks within the City
of Omaha which become binding provision of the Omaha Municipal Code upon approval by
resolution of the City of Omaha.
Your approval to suspend the curfew at Hummel Park Nature Center, between 5:00 p.m. on
Saturday, September 19, 2015 and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2015, for the Family
Campout event is therefore requested.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreations and Public Property
Department is authorized pursuant to Section 21-1 of the Omaha Municipal Code to establish
rules regulating the use of parks within the City of Omaha which become binding provisions of
the Omaha Municipal Code upon approval by Resolution of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, various rules have been established including rules specifying
closing hours; and,
WHEREAS, a Family Campout event will be held on Saturday, September 19,
2015 at Hummel Park Nature Center, 3033 Hummel Park Road; and,
WHEREAS, it has been requested that the park closing hours be suspended
between the hours of 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday,
September 20, 2015; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Public Property
Department has approved the suspension of the park closing hours on those days only for this
event; and,
WHEREAS,the Mayor has recommended approval of this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, between 5:00 p.m. on Saturday,
September 19, 2015 and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2015, Hummel Park Nature
Center, 3033 Hummel Park Road, Omaha, Nebraska, shall be open to accommodate the Family
Campout event.
