Michael N. Gorman to serve as a alternate member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Mr.
Gorman's term will commence on May 6, 2016, and expire five (5) years thereafter, on May 5,

SUMMARY Mr. Gorman has over 34 years of experience in traffic engineering and
transportation planning. He brings comprehensive industry knowledge gained
through his work in both the public and private sectors. Mike is skilled in strategic
planning and implementation, constantly absorbing and analyzing information to
help teams make better decisions. He has successfully guided firms through mergers,
utilizing clear and dynamic communication to gain acceptance internally and to
market the new brand externally. As a certified, Associate Value Specialist,he
routinely works with agencies to identify transportation solutions that provide the
best performance, with the greatest acceptance, at a reasonable cost.

Held various positions beginning as Vice President of
Transportation services to Senior Vice President and Chief
Operating officer, and ultimately President. Company grew
from approximately 90 people to over 150 in this time mostly in
transportation with the addition of offices in Kansas and Iowa.

Principal,Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning
Director. Managed team and conducted design and planning
studies throughout the United States.
1985-1992 • City of Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska
City Traffic Engineer. Managed the Traffic Engineering Division
of the City Public Works Department. Successes include the
development and implementation of a computerized traffic
signal system that served the City at minimal cost since 1986.
1982-1985 City of Casper, Casper,Wyoming
Public Works Superintendent. Managed 85 employees in the
Street, Traffic, Sanitation and Vehicle Maintenance Divisions.
Successes include the design and implementation of the
country's first computerized traffic signal system using cable
TV as the communication medium.
1979-1982 • Iowa Department of Transportation, Ames, Iowa
Traffic Control and Planning Engineer. Managed the state's
traffic signal installations and conducted traffic studies to
improve safety and efficiency of State highway system. Prepared
computer models to predict future travel demand under
various land use and street network scenarios.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, a vacancy will exist on the Zoning Board of Appeals for an alternate
member upon the expiration of the term of Teri Teutsch; and,
WHEREAS, NEB. REV. STAT. § 14-408, as amended, provides for the
appointment to said Board; and,
WHEREAS, Mayor Stothert has appointed Michael N. Gorman as a second
alternate member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, to serve a term commencing on May 6, 2016,
and expire five years thereafter, on May 5, 2021.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
