Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to a Professional Services
Agreement with HDR Engineering, Incorporated to perform construction phase services for
OPW 52553, being the Missouri River Wastewater Treatment Plant Solids Processing Building
project. The original Agreement was approved by Council Resolution No. 1490 on November
25, 2014.
The attached Amendment to the Agreement authorizes HDR Engineering, Incorporated to
proceed with construction phase engineering services, as detailed in Exhibit B. HDR
Engineering, Incorporated has agreed to perform these services for a fee not to exceed
$84,769.00. The fees detailed in Exhibit C of the attached Amendment are to be paid from Sewer
Revenue Improvements Fund 21124, Capital Asset Replacement Program Organization 116913
as a part of the 2016-2021 Environment Capital Improvement Program project#501.
HDR Engineering, Incorporated has filed the required Contract Compliance Report, Form CC-1,
in the Human Rights and Relations Department.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Resolution and Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement.

AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
CITY OF OMAHA
OPW 52553
THIS AMENDMENT, made and entered into this 8th day of April, 2016 by and
between the firm of HDR Engineering, Inc, a corporation of the State of Nebraska, with
offices at 8404 Indian Hills Drive, Omaha,Nebraska 68114-4049 and hereinafter referred
to as the "Consultant", and the City of Omaha,Nebraska, acting by and through its
Mayor, hereinafter, referred to as the "City".
WHEREAS,the City desires to engage the Consultant to amend the Engineering
Agreement for Missouri River Wastewater Treatment Plant-Solids Processing Building
which was entered into on November 25, 2014, hereinafter called existing Agreement.
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed that the existing Agreement be amended as
follows:
1. The existing agreement shall be amended to include additional construction
phase services as outlined in the attached"Exhibit B", Schedule of Services.
2. The fee will consist of a compilation of estimated direct salary costs, direct
non-salary costs, indirect salary costs, indirect non-salary costs and direct
salary payroll additives, as provided in Exhibit"C" attached.
3. This modification will increase the existing agreement by $84,769.
This AMENDMENT shall be deemed a part of, and be subject to all terms and conditions
of the existing Agreement. Except as modified above,the existing Agreement shall
remain in full force and effect.

by their proper officials thereunto duly authorized as to the dates below indicated.

EXHIBIT B-SCHEDULE OF SERVICES
TASK SERIES 400—CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES
Objective: Provide additional construction phase services to assist City in observing and
documenting construction activities.
HDR Activities: 431-Document Familiarization
• Review and become familiar with the Contract Documents as a basis for the
work effort in Activity 432.
432-Weekly Site Visits
• Travel to site once a week and meet with the City's representative to:
-review upcoming week's work schedule items
-discuss potential pre-work planning items and observe work completed the
previous week
-assist in confirming pay application quantities and pay application
processing.
433-Progress Meeting Attendance
• Review and comment on draft progress meeting agendas
• Attend one Progress Meeting per month over the course of the construction.
434-Special Meeting Attendance
• Attend Pre-Construction Meeting,planning meeting for first press removal,
planning meeting for first press replacement,planning meeting for first
conveyor system removal and planning meeting for first conveyor system
replacement.
435-Project Manager/Site Representative Interface
• HDR Project Manager will interface with HDR site representative to
communicate progress,proactively highlight current or upcoming issues
and process weekly site visitation documentation.
Meetings/Travel: Local travel.
Task Deliverables: -One hard copy field reports for days HDR representative is on-site.
-One hard copy of drawings and specifications for City site personnel use.
-Written comments on progress meeting agendas.
Key Understandings
and Assumptions: -A total of 16 hours has been provided for Activity 431.
-Forty four weekly site visits are assumed over an 11 month period of the most
intense construction. Eight hours is allocated for each visit including travel.
HDR and the City will jointly select the single day of the week on which the site
visit will occur.
-It is assumed that the Field Representative will attend Progress Meetings once a
month for 17 months for 2 hours each including travel.
-It is assumed that 3 hours per month of Project Manager time is used over an 11
month period.

WHEREAS, a Professional Services Agreement with HDR Engineering, Incorporated to
provide professional services for OPW 52553, being the Missouri River Wastewater Treatment
Plant Solids Processing Building project, was approved by Council Resolution No. 1490 on

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay the additional fee not to exceed
$84,769.00 for these services to be paid from Sewer Revenue Improvements Fund 21124,
