City of Omaha , '_ t',,!' >;_,., Jean Stothert,Mayor Public Works Director Honorable President and Members of the City Council, Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving a waiver of current City policy regarding neighborhood street resurfacing for Street Improvement District (SID) No. 6877, being the improvement of 78th Avenue from Woolworth Avenue to Poppleton Avenue. Current City policy would require the abutting property owners to cover all of the costs to resurface a deteriorating neighborhood street. However, the Administration is requesting a waiver to this policy in order for the City to contribute 50% of the costs of this improvement. This project includes reconstruction of the roadway including full-depth concrete, curb and guttering and storm sewer inlets. Bids for this work were received on June 29, 2016. The cost of this project, estimated to be $152,875.75, would be paid from the Capital Special Assessment Fund 13573. The Capital Special Assessment funding will be provided in part by a Special Assessment of residents from this community. The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached Resolution.
