• Transmitted herewith is an Ordinance amending Special Ordinance No. 10217, to remove one
property from the assessment and amend the total assessment by $2,528.55.
The enclosed Ordinance amends the existing plan of assessment transmitted to and levied by
the Douglas County Treasurer's office. After the assessment was levied, an appeal filed to the
treasurer's office was investigated by the Public Works Department's Construction Division staff
and found to be warranted. This amendment removes 2626 S. 97th Avenue, because it was
determined that the area where the completion of the asphalt overlay matched up to the existing
pavement abutting this property actually ended north of the property line. Therefore, the
property does not meet the criteria for assessment in this District. This ordinance would remove
the $2,528.55 principle assessed, as well as any accrued interest.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE to amend certain portions of Special Ordinance No. 10217 levying
assessments for the improvement of a local roadway, by removing the assessment on
the property listed below in the total amount of $2,528.55 plus accrued interest; and to
provide the effective date.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
Section 1. That such portion of Special Ordinance No. 10217, passed June 6, 2017,
relating to and levying the special assessments for the improvement of a local roadway on the
following described properties:

Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and take effect fifteen days from and
after its passage.
