Transmitted herewith is a Resolution authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue a Purchase.Order
to Leigh Environmental• Equipment; Inc. for the purchase of one (1) hidrostal immersible
dewatering pump With a 30h'p motor to be utilized by the Missouri River Water Resource Recovery
Facility.
The Public Works Department recommends that bidding procedures be Waived in accordance
with Section 5.16 of the Horne Rule Charter of 1956 for the purchase of unique or non-competitive
items. Leigh Environmental Equipment, Inc. is the sole-source provider of this type of hidrostal
immersible pump and has agreed to supply this equipment for a fee of$29,509.00 as indicated
in the attached documentation:
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of this purchase from the Sewer Revenue
Fund 21121,.Missouri .Treatment Plant Main Organization 116613, year 201`8 expenditure.
Leigh Environmental Equipment, Inc. has filed the required Contract Compliance Report, Form
CC-1, as determined by the Human Rights and Relations Department.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Resolution.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the Missouri River Water Resource Recovery Facility Division of the Public Works
Department is in need of 1 (one) hidrostal immersible dewatering pump with a 30hp motor; and,
WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this equipment, it is recommended that the
bidding procedures be waived in accordance with Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956
for the purchase of unique or non-competitive items; and,
WHEREAS, Leigh Environmental Equipment, Inc. submitted a quotation for the hidrostal
immersible dewatering pump with a 30hp motor, in the amount of$29,509.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent is authorized to issue a
Purchase Order to Leigh Environmental Equipment, Inc. in the total amount of$29,509.00 for one
(1) hidrostal immersible dewatering pump with a 30hp motor to be utilized by the Water Resource
Recovery Facility Division; and that, the Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of this
equipment from the Sewer Revenue Fund 21121, Missouri Treatment Plant Main Organization

Requisition#108881 has been issued for a replacement Hidrostal Immersible Dewatering Pump and 30 hP
Motor. Leigh Environmental Equipment,Inc.is the vendor for Hidrostal equipment and has supplied quote
ESK-S-EE4B4for one Hidrostal Immersible Dewatering Pump and 30 hP Motor with Hi chrome impeller.
The total for this replacement pump and motor is$29,509.00.
This pump is one of four dewatering pumps for the wet weather flow clarifiers in a dewatering system that
allows clarifers to be made available for the next storm event following a wet weather disinfection event.
The sole source replacement of this pump will retain standardization of the equipment in the system. This
pump is from the original equipment manufacturer and is not interchangeable with equipment from another
vendor or manufacturer.
Funds for this contract should come from the Sewer Revenue Improvement fund Missouri River Treatment
Plant Maintenance budget(WWTF Maintenance and Repair)as identified in the requisition. If you have
