Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving a purchase order and facilities waiver with the
Omaha Public Power District (OPPD)for street lighting required on OPW 53296, being the Vinton
Street Acorn Light Poles Project.
The Public Works Department recommends that bidding procedures be waived in accordance
with Section 5.16•.of the Home Rule Charter of 1956, due to the fact that OPPD is the only entity
authorized to work on own utilities. The total cost of these upgrades is $178,850.00 which will be
paid from the Community Develop Block Grant Fund 12186, CDBG Grant Organization 128072,
year.2018 expenditure.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Resolution.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, street lighting for Vinton Street is required as a part of OPW 53296, being the
Vinton Street Acorn Light Poles Project; and,
WHEREAS, the Omaha Public Power District is the only entity authorized to work on its
own utilities, the Public Works Department recommends that the bidding procedures be waived
in accordance with Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956; and,
. . .. WHEREAS, OPPD has submitted a proposal and waiver for this street lighting in the
amount of$178,850.00 which will be paid from the Community Develop Block Grant Fund

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the Purchase Order and facilities waiver with the

the Vinton Street Acorn Light Poles Project, is hereby approved; and,
