RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, pursuant to Omaha Municipal Code §26-24, upon the recommendation of the public
works director, the council may order the improvement of an unpaved street or alley which intersects a paved
street for a distance of not to exceed one block on either side of the street; and,
WHEREAS, this improvement may be ordered without the petition of the abutting property owners or
creating a street improvement district; and,
WHEREAS, there exists such a street segment along Poppleton Avenue, from 78th Avenue to 78th
Street, abutted by five properties specially benefitted by this improvement, which properties include:
Lots 10, 11, and 12, Almyra Place; together with Lots 1 and 12, Block 19,
Loveland Addition; located in the Northeast 1/4 of the Northwest Quarter
Section 26-15-12; and,
WHEREAS, this improvement project consisting of grading, storm sewerage, curbing and paving in
Portland Cement Concrete, would be undertaken under the designation of Street Improvement Project (SIP)
2019-05; and,
WHEREAS, consistent with City policy for unimproved roadways, such a project should be
undertaken with the City providing a 50% cost share in the design and construction of the project; and,
WHEREAS, this cost share would be provided for through the funding allocated to Capitol
Improvement Program Project No. 1982T512; and,
WHEREAS, the remaining costs of the project shall be equalized and levied to the aforementioned
properties abutting and specially benefitted by the improvements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, pursuant to Omaha Municipal code §26-24 the Council so orders the creation of Street
Improvement Project 2019-05, being the improvement of Poppleton Avenue from 78th Avenue to 78th Street
consisting of grading, storm sewerage, curbing and paving in Portland Cement Concrete.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, consistent with the City policy on non-standard roads, the total costs of.the design and
construction of the project, currently estimated at approximately $195,000, will be cost shared by the City in
the amount of 50% to be paid from the 2018 Transportation Bond Fund 13185, Organization 117117, and the
remaining 50% of the cost of the project to be equalized and specially assessed to the abutting property
owners.
