Attached for your consideration, at the request of Council President Ben Gray, is a Resolution
reappointing Diane K. Duren to be a member of MECA's Board of Directors.
By virtue of Ordinance No. 35043, adopted by the City Council on October 19, 1999, the Interim
Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority (MEGA) was created therein. Article V (b) of
MECA's by-laws provides that all successive Directors shall be appointed on an alternating basis by
the Mayor of the. City of Omaha and by the City Council of the City of Omaha for a term of five (5)
years and that the first such appointment shall be made by the Mayor. At this time, it is the City
Council's turn to appoint the next Director to MECA's Board of Directors. This Resolution
reappoints Diane K. Duren to an additional five (5) year term, beginning May 10, 2019 through May
9, 2024. Ms. Duren's credentials are attached for your review.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, by virtue of Ordinance No 35043, adopted by the City Council on October 19,
1999, the Interim Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority (MECA) was created; and,
WHEREAS, Article V (b) of MECA's by-laws provides that all successive Directors shall be
appointed on an alternating basis first by the Mayor of the City of Omaha and then by the City Council with
each appointment being for a term of five (5) years; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor reappointed Jay Noddle on or about October 29, 2017, to serve a term
running May 10, 2018 through May 9, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, it is the City Council's turn to appoint the next Director whose term expires May 9,
2019; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that they desire to reappoint Diane K. Duren as a
member of the MECA Board to serve a term effective May 10, 2019, and running through May 9, 2024.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the reappointment by the City Council of Diane K. Duren to be a member of the
MECA's Board of Directors to serve a term effective May 10, 2019 and expiring May 9, 2024 is hereby
confirmed and approved.
