RE: Appointment to the Dock Board
Attached is a Resolution requesting the appointment of David Stern to the Dock
Board of the City of Omaha. Mr. Stern will replace Ray Powers, whose term
expired on September 10, 1995. This Resolution has been requested by
Councilmembers Lee Terry, Subby Anzaldo and Richard Takechi.
Mr. Stern's term shall commence on the day of confirmation by the City Council
and expire three years thereafter. A copy of Mr. Stern's resume is attached for
your information.

Was Promotion Manager and Classified Advertising Manager. Assumed present
position in 1964. Duties included PBX service, print shop, property and
casualty insurance purchasing for all entities, newsprint purchasing and
contract negotiations, general purchasing, building maintenance and
cleaning, general property management,. security and safety director.
1993 - Retired in July •

ensure the herein nomination to the Omaha Municipal Dock Board is placed
on the City Council agenda for Tuesday, November 7, 1995, as a resolution.
The appointment will be for a three (3) year term, commencing seven (7)
days after approval by the City Council.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS,there now exists a vacancy on the Dock Board of the City of Omaha due
to the expiration of the term of Ray Powers; and,
WHEREAS, Section 13-1403 of the Nebraska State Statutes provides for the
appointment to the above said agency; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Omaha is being requested to appoint
David Stern to the Dock Board of the City of Omaha, said term to commence the day of confirmation
by the City Council and expire three years thereafter.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT,the appointment by the City Council of the City of Omaha of David Stern as
a member of the Dock Board of the City of Omaha, to serve a term commencing upon confirmation
by the City Council and expiring three years thereafter,is hereby confirmed.
