�{ WHEREAS,,Chapter 33 of the Omaha Municipal Code,as recently amended,provides
for'special collection permits for group dwelling units to receive solid waste,collection service from.
the City collector of solid'waste; and, - _

i, ' WHEREAS,the Mayor has recommended and the City Council agrees that the City
,of Omaha'rtequires additional'time to develop the criteria for collections from,and identification of, 1
such properties and time t.o,properl9'identify such properties and to grant special permits therefor and •
to develop.and award a contract or contracts therefor, and the owners and managers of such
properties need time to make applications for special collections in response to such criteria after it
is developed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF'OMAHA: '
THAT;the City Council of the City of Omaha does hereby support and recommend
that the requirement of the Omaha Municipal Code that group idwelling units must apply for and
receive a special permit before such properties receive solid waste collection service from the City
contractor be suspended for those group dwelling units that are:presently.being collected by the City
(that a grace period for enforcement be granted)until May 1, 1996.
