The purpose of this amendment is to allow that the members of the Civilian Pension System Poard of Trustees may attend conventions, conferences or obtain other educational material with the costs of same to be borne by the Pension System. This proposed ordinance was, unanimously approved by the Pension System Board of Trustees at a recent meeting. The amendment you currently have before you is fundamentally the same as an amendment that you'recently approved for inclusion in the Police and Fire Pension System. Whinne Deputy City A orney May r''s Office/Title — Approved: William Miskell, Finance Director 146 P\LAW\0216 MAF ORDINANCE NO. aatn AN ORDINANCE to amend Article II, Chapter 22 of the Omaha Municipal Code entitled "Employees' Retirement System", to provide that the Civilian Pension System Board of Trustees may authorize the expenditure of funds for educational endeavors related to the Board Members duties and responsibilities and that said funds are to be paid from the Civilian Pension System;to amend Section 22-43; and to provide the effective date hereof. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: Section 1. That § 22-43, Article II, Chapter 22 of the Omaha Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows: Section 22-43. Administrative expense. All costs and expenses incurred in the administration of this System shall be paid by the City,and no part of the retirement reserve fund shall be used for such purpose. The Board of Trustees may,upon majority vote of the Board., authorize the expenditure of civilian pension monies for the members of the Board of Trustees to attend conventions., conferences, purchase of publications, and any other educational endeavors pertaining to the fiduciary responsibility of the Trustees of the Civilian Pension System Board of Trustees. Section 2. That Article II, Chapter 22 of the Omaha Municipal Code as heretofore existing is hereby amended. ! r . .. , j ORDINANCE NO. 5 goy Page 2 Section 3.
