Director Inc. for the construction of an enclosed batting cage at Rosenblatt Stadium. This
is part of the required 1996 NCAA improvements at Rosenblatt Stadium. In
addition,the City of Omaha must also provide a facility like this for the Omaha
Royals Baseball Club. This facility will meet the requirements for the NCAA
and the Omaha Royals.
The following bids were received on February 21, 1996. The Engineer's
Estimate is $347,000.00.

The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of S.P. 96-4,NCAA 1996
Improvements,Batting Cage, Rosenblatt Stadium from the Rosenblatt Stadium
Expansion Fund 307.
The last review by the Human Relations Director showed the Contractor is in
compliance with Ordinance No. 28885 and that-the Contractor has on file a
current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form(CC-1). As is City policy,the
Human Relations Director will continue to review the Contractor to ensure
compliance with the Contract Compliance Ordinance.

The Planning, Parks, and Finance Departments recommend acceptance of the low bid from Meco-
Henne Contracting, Inc. in the amount of$255,000.00 for S.P. 96-4, being the lowest and best bid
received, and request your consideration and approval of this Resolution.

WHEREAS, Meco-Henne Contracting, Inc. submitted a low bid of $255,000.00 ..)
being the lowest and best bid received for S.P. 96-4, 1996 NCAA Improvements, Batting Cage,
Rosenblatt Stadium, 13th and Bert Murphy Drive; and,
WHEREAS, Meco-Henne Contracting, Inc. has complied with the City's Contract
Compliance Ordinance 28885 in relation to Civil Rights-Human Relations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the bid of$255,000.00 from Meco-Henne Contracting, Inc. for S.P. 96-4,
1996 NCAA Improvements, Batting Cage,Rosenblatt Stadium, 13th Street and Bert Murphy Drive,
being the lowest and best bid received,be accepted and the contract awarded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the contract with Meco-Henne Contracting, Inc., as recommended by the
Mayor, in the amount of$255,000.00 is hereby approved.
BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of S.P. 96-4, 1996
NCAA Improvements, Batting Cage, Rosenblatt Stadium, 13th and Bert Murphy Drive, in the
-amount of$255,000.00 from the Rosenblatt Stadium Expansion Fund No. 307.
