RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS,teachers and professional educators provide the foundation for our young
people; and,
WHEREAS, they serve as role models and mentors and help shape the future of
society;and,
WHEREAS, we are proud and fortunate to have outstanding teachers in our
community; and,
WHEREAS,March 4, 1997,has been designated Teacher Recognition Day in the City
of Omaha.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COUNCIL ON BEHALF OF ITSELF AND THE CITIZENS OF OMAHA:
THAT,Tuesday,March 4, 1997, is proclaimed to be Teacher Recognition Day and
the City of Omaha joins the entire State of Nebraska in celebrating and giving thanks for our
outstanding teachers and educators.
