Honorable President
and Members of the City Council,
Transmitted herewith is a Bid Tabulation and a Resolution authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue
a purchase order to Theatrical Lighting Systems, Inc., for theatrical lighting at the Music Hall. This
replacement lighting is part of the Civic Auditorium renovation project.
The following bids were received on January 8, 1997.
Contractor Total Bid
THEATRICAL LIGHTING SYSTEMS, INC. $32,445.54 (SOLE BID)
Initially the bid from Theatrical Lighting Systems, Inc., was deemed unacceptable with an
approximate four month delivery availability period. Upon further review, the bidder has advised
that existing orders for stocked fixtures have later use timing such that these units can be included
in the City of Omaha purchase and replenished for their other customers. The bid is, therefore,
compliant with the specifications and our needs.
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form (CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with the
Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of purchasing the lighting from the Civic
Auditorium Renovation Fund 315,Organization 1952.
The Administrative Services Department recommends the acceptance of the bid from Theatrical
Lighting Systems, Inc., in the amount of$32,445.54, being the lowest and best bid received, and
requests your consideration and approval of this Resolution.
