The attached Resolution authorizes S.I.D. 386 to expend, for park improvements, an amount not to
exceed $194,579.00, including soft costs, and to accept the bid of Pospichal Construction, Inc. to
provide these improvements. Approval will result in earthwork, a twenty-five stall parking lot,
concrete sidewalks, installation of playground equipment, a.picnic shelter, site furnishings and other
related park improvements.
Improvements for this park were authorized by the Park and Recreation Advisory Board on August
5, 1996, in an amount not to exceed$172,030.00. These improvements correspond to the low base
bid received which, including soft costs,totals$167,580.00. The addition of alternates 1 and 3 bring
the total costs to the recommended level of$194,579.00.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Sanitary and Improvement District No. 386, Somerset, owns park
property located at 85th and Girard, utilized for park and recreation purposes; and,
WHEREAS, Somerset S.I.D. is now requesting approval of the costs for
improvements to the park within the S.I.D.; and,
WHEREAS, the base project and costs in the amount of $172,030.00 were
recommended for approval by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on August 5, 1996; and,
Wr IEREAS, Somerset S.I.D.recommends acceptance of the base bid and alternate
#1 and#3; and, '
WHEREAS,the Parks,Recreation and Public Property Department recommends that
the amount of$194,579.00 be approved; and,
WHEREAS, competitive bids were received by the District's Engineers; and,
WHEREAS,the Mayor has recommended acceptance of this bid.
.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, park improvement costs in the amount of
$194,579.00, including soft costs, for the base bid and alternates #1 and# 3 in the public park in
Sanitary and Improvement District No. 386,Somerset, located at 85th and Girard Streets are hereby
approved.
FURTHER THAT,these costs incurred by S.I.D. 386 to improve this public park are
a 100% obligation of the S.I.D.
