INFORMATION ATTACHED: YES X NO NONE AVAILABLE wk c: Councilmembers, City Clerk, Chief Skinner, Brinker Harding, Counci./ ff Revised: 10/96 c-25A CITY OF OMAHA r - • LEGISLATIVE CHAMBER Omaha,Nebr 19 RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: WHEREAS, on May 6, 1997, the City Council passed Resolution No. 1189 which called for the Council to meet as a committee of the whole for the purpose of initiating an investigation and related matters to examine, among other matters 1) whether the crime statistics previously released by the Omaha Police Department were knowingly inaccurate; 2) whether the Administration has directed that Police personnel withhold accurate information concerning the expenses attendant to the development and/or implementation of a Police Helicopter Unit; 3) whether the Administration of the City of Omaha instructed Police staff personnel to intentionally under budget several accounts; 4) whether the Administration of the City of Omaha by and through its authorized representatives approved or authorized the knowing violation of any Executive Orders issued by the Chief of the Omaha Police Department; and, WHEREAS,it has been determined that such an investigation is no longer necessary; and, WHEREAS,the Council desires to repeal and revoke Resolution No. 1189; and WHEREAS,it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Omaha to repeal and revoke Resolution No. 1189. • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: THAT, Resolution No. 1189,adopted May 6, 1997,is hereby revoked and repealed.
