Transmitted herewith is a Bid Tabulation and a Resolution authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue
a purchase order to Elliott Sanitation Equipment for the purchase of a high pressure sewer cleaner
for use by the Sewer Maintenance Division. This cleaner will be mounted on a 34,000 G.V.W.truck
chassis and cab which award accompanies this Resolution.
The following bids were received on December 11, 1996

In addition to the cleaner, it is recommended that the polypropylene water tank option be included
in the purchase at a cost of$2,376.00,resulting in a total purchase price of$45,376.00.
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form(CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with the
Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of purchasing the sewer cleaner from the
Sewer Maintenance Division Fund 541, Organization 1461.
The Administrative Services Department recommends the acceptance of the bid from Elliott
Sanitation Equipment, in the total amount of$45,376.00,being the lowest and best bid received for
a high pressure sewer cleaner and requests your consideration and approval of this Resolution.

GENERAL:
It is the intent of these specifications to describe the minimum
requirements for a self-DroPelled, all terrain type mounted, hose
reel assembly to be used in conjunction with a High pressure
Hydraulic Sewer cleaner, The expressed purpose of thii.; unit is
to extend the capabilities of a high pressure hydraulic sewer
cleaner into normally inaccessible areas- such as but not limited
to easements, hillsides, ravines, creek beds, wooded areas and -
behind homes and buildings, The unit including all necessary
equipment shall be furnished complete Sid ready for use. All
parts not specifically mentioned which are reauired for a
complete unit shall conform in design, strength, quality of
material and workmanship to the highest standard of engineering

Bed shall be a 'minimum of eight (8) foot long and five (5) foot
wide . A ramp shall be included and have a five ( 5) foot width
and minimum of four (4 ) foot length.

Rub rail to be constructed of 1 1/2" x i 1/2" z 3/16" angle and
shall be 13" hgh.
Ramp shall be constructed of 1 1/2" x - 1/2" x 1/4" angle with

It shall include safety chains, adjustable pintel hitch, bulldog

WHEREAS, Elliott Sanitation Equipment submitted a bid of$43,000.00,being the
lowest and best bid received for the sewer cleaner and an optional bid of $2,376.00 for a
polypropylene water tank which is recommended to be included with the order; a copy of the bid
specification is attached to the Resolution on file in the Office of the City Clerk for review.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT,the total bid of$45,376.00 from Elliott Sanitation Equipment for the purchase
of a high pressure sewer cleaner and optional polypropylene water tank,being the lowest and best
bid received be accepted and the Purchasing Agent is authorized to issue a purchase order therefor.
