The following bids were received on June 23, 1997. The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form(CC-1). As is City policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with the Contract Compliance Ordinance. - The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of pump repair at the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant from the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Organization 1473, Fund 541. The Public Works Department recommends the acceptance of the bid from Fairbanks Morse Pump Corporation, in the amount of$22,844.00, being the lowest and best bid received, and requests your consideration and approval of this Resolution. Repair per specifications dated • 5/15/97,two (2) pages. Scope of Work: Transport pump to repair facility and deliver back to the Papillion Creek Plant. Disassemble pump, clean and blast painted surfaces. Furnish and install new suction bell. Furnish and install new bottom and top case bearings. Furnish and install new column bearings (3). Furnish and install new tension bearing. Polish and straighten line shafts. Furnish and install new bowl shaft(stainless steel). Furnish and install new stainless steel wear ring in the suction bell. Weld up impeller and machine to original tolerances. Dynamically balance reworked impeller. SIGN ALL COPIES Firm By Title PH-8C (91) CONTINUATION SHEET • L • a REPAIR SPECIFICATION FOR A TRICKLING FILTER PUMP FOR THE PAPILLION CREEK WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT GENERAL This specification describes the general requirements for repairs and refurbishing one Byron Jackson single stage mixed flow vertical pump. The pump model is 35 PMR serial number 861-C-0024 rated for 24;500 gpm at 39 feet TDH at 900 rpm. The pump is located at the City of Omaha's Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, 15705 Harlan Lewis Road, Bellevue, NE 68005. The pump will be pulled from the wet well and be ready for shipment. Contact person for this work is Mitchell Hare, City Maintenance Supervisor at 402-444-3920. SCOPE OF WORK • Transport pump to repair facility and deliver back to the Papillion Creek Plant. • Disassemble pump, clean and blast painted surfaces. • Furnish and install new suction bell. • Furnish and install new bottom and top case bearings. • Furnish and install new column bearings (3). • Furnish and install new tension bearing. • Polish and straighten line shafts. • Furnish and install new bowl shaft (stainless steel). • Furnish and install new stainless steel wear ring in the suction bell. • Weld up impeller and machine to original tolerances. • Dynamically balance reworked impeller. • Coat exterior of bowl assembly, interior and exterior of column pipe, exterior of enclosing tube and interior of the discharge head with Tnemec 46H-413 Hi-build Tnemetar. • Reassemble pump. Inspection of the pump may reveal other work items critical to refurbishing of the pump. Such repair items shall be forwarded to the owner with a cost estimate and if approved such items will be considered a normal change order for this work. ti . . . t . • ALTERNATIVE REPAIR METHODS The bid for repair services shall reflect all items as specified. If the contractor is considering alternative repair methods in respect to the suction bell and coating system, the base bid shall reflect the cost as specified and alternative repairs shall be noted as deductive/additive prices. The contractor shall also bid an hourly rate for additional repair work. START-UP AND WARRANTY The repair contractor shall be on-site to check out the installation and supervise the start- up of the rebuilt pump. The rebuild shall be warranted for a period of six (6)months after start-up of the pump. The contractor shall repair or correct at his own expense all or any defects to the pump for this time period.
