Attached for your consideration is a Resolution appointing Angenette Meaney to serve as a member
of the Library Board.
Ms. Meaney's appointment will commence upon confirmation by the City Council and expire on
June 30, 1998. A copy of Ms. Meaney's resume is attached for your information.

Resume: Angenette Duffy Meaney
Angenette D. Meaney has more than 15 years experience in
corporate public relations and marketing communications.
A native of Greenwich, Connecticut, she began her career in 1974
as a management trainee with the former Continental Can Company in
New York City. In 1979, Ms. Meaney relocated to Hong Kong where she
became an account executive with Hill and Knowlton, an international
public relations firm, and went on to manage their office in Korea for
three years.
After returning to the U.S. in 1983, Ms. Meaney worked for the
General Electric Company and later joined The Pepsi-Cola Company as
manager of school marketing programs. She relocated to The Netherlands
in 1987 and then moved to Paris where she created and ran the
development office at The Marymount School.
After five years in Paris, Ms. Meaney moved to Omaha where her
husband, Bob, became President and Chief Operating Officer of
Valmont International. She currently serves on the Board of the Otrita
Literacy Council, on the Pastoral Care Committee at St. Andrew's-C'iurch
and as a regional representative for the Princeton Alumni Schools
Committee. She and her husband, Bob, have three children, ages 16, 14
and 9.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Princeton University, Ms. Meaney
also holds a diblome semestriel from the Sorbonne as well as a Master's
Degree in English from the University of Virginia.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Section 14-23 of the Omaha Municipal Code rovies for the

appointment to the Library Board; and,
WHEREAS,Matt L. Butler was appointed to the Library Board to serve a term that
expires on June 30, 1998; and,
WHEREAS,Matt L.Butler has resigned from the Library Board creating a vacancy
on the board; and,
WHEREAS, Mayor Hal Daub has appointed Angenette Meaney to serve on the
Library Board, said term to commence upon confirmation by the City Council and expiring on
June 30, 1998.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
