Honorable President
and Members of the City Council,
Transmitted herewith is a Resolution authorizing the acceptance of the bids from Fiocchi of
America in the amount of$617.00 for 5,000 rounds of.38 cal practice ammunition; Precision
Delta in the amount of $24,255.50 for 55,000 rounds of 9mm practice ammunition, 75,000
rounds of.40 cal practice ammunition, and 55,000 rounds of.45 cal practice ammunition;Black
Hills Ammo in the amount of$1,695.00 for 10,000 rounds of 5.56mm practice rifle ammunition;
and Gil Hebard Guns in the amount of $6,444.20 for 10,000 rounds of 9mm duty ammunition for
ERU specialty weapons, 2,500 rounds of 5.56mm Duty ammunition for ERU rifles, and 10,800
rounds of.308 cal. duty ammunition for ERU specialty weapons.
The Police Department recommends accepting the low bids from Fiocchi.of America, Precision
Delta, and Black Hills Ammo; the Police Department further suggests accepting the bid from Gil
Hebrad Guns for the ERU "duty" ammunition due the special need for ERU personnel to operate
at maximum proficiency in high stress incidents. The above are found to be the lowest and/or
best bids received within bid specifications.
As is City policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractors to ensure compliance
with the Contract Compliance Ordinance.
Funds of$36,090.98 have been appropriated in the General Fund 001, Agency 132, Organization
1345, Object 3270. The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost from this account.
