1 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 18-22 of Chapter 18 of the Omaha Municipal Code entitled
2 "Nuisances," to exempt the Land Reutilization Commission from all property assessments
3 for City weed and litter violations and provide for an effective date.
4 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
5 Section 1. Section 18-22 of Chapter 18 of the Omaha Municipal Code, entitled "Nuisances,
6 is hereby amended by deleting the first paragraph there of which reads:
7 "Sec. 18-22. Prohibited conditions.
8 It shall be unlawful for the owner, agent, occupant or other person in
9 possession, charge or control of any lot or ground in the city, or
10 portion thereof,to do either of the following:. . . . "
11 and inserting in its place and stead,the following:
12 "Sec. 18-22. Prohibited conditions.
13 It shall be unlawful for the owner, agent, occupant or other person in
14 possession, charge or control of any lot or ground in the city, or
15 portion thereof, except for the Douglas County Land Reutilization
16 Commission.,to do either of the following:. . . ."
17 Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and take effect 15 days from and after the date
18 of its passage.

Councilmember Brenda Council requests the Law Department prepare an
ordinance for the_ ,Council agenda of February 11, 1997, that exempts the Land
Reutilization Commission (LRC) of Douglas County from all property assessments
for City weed and littler violations.
Council Staff has reviewed Sections 18-21 to 18-28 and Sections 18-29 and 30,
and has selected Section 18-22 as one possible section to include the new
language in. However, the Law Department shall determine the exact language
arid proper location for this change.
