RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS,the Nebraska Business Improvement District Act provides that there be
a business area board appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council prior to`-the creation
of any business improvement district by the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the business area improvement board shall make recommendations to
the Mayor and City Council of plans for the improvements to the business area, and shall consist of
five or more members who are property owners, residents, business operators, or users of space
within the business area to serve such terms as the City Council may determine; and,
WHEREAS, a vacancy will exist on the South Omaha Business Area Improvement
Board due to the retirement and store closure of Mr. Joseph Stanek, effective December 1, 1997;
and,
WHEREAS,Mayor Hal Daub has appointed Mr.Amil Allen Kubat, owner of Philips
Pharmacy, 2401 N Street, to fill the remainder of the term of the South Omaha Business
Improvement Area Board of Joseph Stanek which will expire on July 16,2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the appointment by the Mayor of Amil Allen Kubat, owner of Philips
Pharmacy, as a member of the South Omaha Business Improvement Area Board to serve the
remainder of Mr. Stanek's term commencing on the date of confirmation by the City Council, and
expiring on July 16,2001,is hereby confirmed.
