The attached Resolution approves the contract with Par III,Inc., as recommended by the Mayor, for
SC 98-1 and SC 98-2, being tree hanger removal from the right-of-way.
The following bids were received on January 14, 1998 and February 11, 1998. Bid tabulations are
attached.
Contractor Total Bid
PAR III, INC. $1,057,800.00 (SOLE BID)
The bid for SC 98-1 was $589,000.00 for the north half of the City. The bid for SC 98-2 was
$468,800.00 for the south half of the City.
FEMA has confirmed that their regulations do not allow for the cutting of hangers that are under 2"
in diameter. The contractor,Par III, Inc. has agreed that no hangers under 2" in diameter will be cut
under this contract.
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form(CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Relations.Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with the
Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of SC 98-1 and SC 98-2 from the Street and
Right-of-Way Cleaning Organization 1538, 1997 Federal Assistance Fund 129.

amount of$1,057,800.00, being the lowest and best bid received, and requests your consideration
and approval of this Resolution.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, bids were received on January 14, 1998 and February.11, 1998 for
SC 98-1 and SC 98-2,being tree hanger removal from the right-of-way ; and,
WHEREAS,Par III,Inc. submitted a bid of$1,057,800.00,being the lowest and best
bid received for SC 98-1 and SC 98-2; and,
WHEREAS,FEMA has confirmed that their regulations do not allow for the cutting
of hangers that are under 2" in diameter. The contractor,Par III, Inc. has agreed that no hangers

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT,the bid of$1,057,800.00 from Par III,Inc. for SC 98-1 and SC 98-2,being
tree hanger removal from the right-of-way,being the lowest and best bid received,be accepted and
the contract be awarded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT,the contract with Par III,Inc., as recommended by the Mayor, in the amount
of$1,057,800.00, is hereby approved.
BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT,the Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of SC 98-1 and SC 98-2
