Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving an Amendment to the Professional Services
Agreement with HGM Associates, Inc., to prepare a final design to reconstruct and separate the
sewer system around 37th & Jaynes Streets. The original agreement was adopted by the City
Council by Resolution No. 3156 on November 18, 1997. The original agreement was to do
preliminary research and provide options for the final design for RNC 5536.
Details of what will be done are included in the Amendment to the Agreement. All other terms of
the agreement remain unchanged.
Wells Engineers Environmental,Inc.,has agreed to provide a final design for a fixed fee which will
not exceed $65,000.00. This amount will be paid from the Sanitary Sewer Improvement
Organization 1485, Sewer Revenue Improvement Fund 544.
HGM Associates,Inc., was selected to perform the required engineering services in accord with the
Architect's and Engineer's Review and Selection Committee. HGM has filed the required Annual
Contract Compliance Report Form, CC-1, in the Human Relations Department. The Director of
Human Relations will review the firm to determine its compliance with Ordinance 28885.
The Public Work Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached Resolution -

Dear Mr. McIntyre:
On behalf of HGM ASSOCIATES INC. (HGM) we are pleased to submit this letter form
amendment to our Professional Services Agreement (PSA) dated November 26, 1997 for the 37th
and Jaynes Sewer Separation Project. This amendment addresses the fee for the final design of
Phase I of the above referenced Project as detailed in the Preliminary Design Report dated
February 2, 1998. The Scope of Work for the final design is attached as Exhibit Ito the PSA.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS,the City Council approved an Agreement with HGM Associated to do
preliminary research and provide options for the reconstruction and separation of the sewer system
around 37th&Jaynes Streets by Resolution No. 3156 on November 18, 1997; and,
WHEREAS,there is enough information now to do a final design for RNC 5536; and,
WHEREAS,HGM Associates,Inc.,has agreed to perform the final design detailed
in the attached Amendment to the Agreement, which by this reference is made a part hereof,for a
fixed fee not to exceed $65,000.00, which will be paid from the Sanitary Sewer Improvement
Organization 1485, Sewer Revenue Improvement Fund 544; and,
WHEREAS,the Public Works Department does not have sufficient staff to undertake
this project at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the Amendment to the Engineering Services Agreement with HGM
Associates,Inc.,to provide the final design for RNC 5536,located around 37th&Jaynes Streets, is
hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay $65,000.00 from the Sanitary
Sewer Improvement Organization 1485, Sewer Revenue Improvement Fund 544.
