Attached to this are a Bid Tabulation and a Resolution requesting approval of the bid from Jones
Library Sales to supply, match styles and finishes, and install shelving at the Abrahams Branch
Library.
The bids for these services were received on February 26, 1998,with Jones Library Sales submitting
the lowest and best bid in the amount of Twenty-Six Thousand Seven Hundred and Two Dollars
($26,702.00). Other bidders included:

Highsmith
Porter-Trustin Carlson
None of these companies elected to submit a bid.
The funds to pay for these services have been provided in the 1998 Public Library budget and will
. be paid from the 1998 Douglas County Library Supplement Fund No. 140.
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form(CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with the
Contract Compliance Ordinance. -
I respectfully recommend approval of this Resolution which would accept the bid and authorize and
approve the agreement between Jones Library Sales and the City of Omaha.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, bids were received on February 26, 1998,for the provision of library
shelving for Abrahams Branch Library;and,
WHEREAS, the bid of Jones Library Sales is the lowest and best bid submitted for
• the library shelving; and,
WHEREAS,it would be in the best interests of the residents of the City of Omaha that
the bid be approved for the specified item in the lowest and best bid amount submitted by Jones
Library Sales of Twenty-Six Thousand,Seven Hundred and Two Dollars and No Cents ($26,702.00);
and,
4• f f WHEREAS,the contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report
Form(CC-1). As is City policy,the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure
