Transmitted herewith is a Bid Tabulation and a Resolution authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue
a purchase order to Cornhusker Trux LLC on the bid for the purchase of one 54,000 GVW truck
chassis and cab to be utilized by the Street Maintenance Division.
The following bids were received on March 4, 1998.
Contractor Total Bid
Great Basin Trucks $82,846.00
CORNHUSKER Trux LLC $83,594.81 (RECOMMENDED BID)
Omaha Truck Center $93,998.00
The Public Works Department recommends the award to Cornhusker Trux LLC,the second low bid
received. This recommendation is based on the fact that the apparent low bid submitted by Great
Basin Trucks failed to meet bid specification requirements as detailed in the attached Interoffice
Communication.
A copy of the bid documents is on file and available for inspection and review in the City Clerk's
Office.
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form(CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with the
Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of the purchase of one 54,000 GVW truck
chassis and cab from the Street Maintenance Equipment Organization 1422, Street and Highway
Allocation Fund 103.

SUBJECT: Bid Award 54,000 GVW Chassis and Cab "Street"
The low bid supplied by Great�Basi-n-Truck of Nebraska Inc. listed several exceptions that are not
acceptable to this Division, they are:
1.) Cat 3306-300 HP in leu of cummins L 10
2.)Frame section modules 28.6, specs call for 30 S.M.
3.) A review of the Dealers Options show that the Hydraulic System they propose to use is not
compatible with the Rexroth system specified. This was confirmed with a telephone conference call
between the Valco Factory,Kent Kurehn, Commercial Shearing (the firm who provides the system)
and Wayne Reed of this division.
Considering the above and increasing the Vehicle Maintenance inventory for maintenance and
service it is the Vehicle Maintenance Division recommendation to award to the second bidder
Cornhusker Trux L.L.C. for its bid price of$83,594.81.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS,bids were received on March 24, 1998 for the purchase of one 54,000
GVW truck chassis and cab to be utilized by the Street Maintenance Division; and,
WHEREAS,Cornhusker Trux LLC submitted a bid of$83,594.81,being the lowest
and best bid received, within the bid specifications, for the purchase of one 54,000 GVW truck
chassis and cab.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the bid of$83,594.81 from Cornhusker Trux LLC for the purchase of one
54,000 GVW truck chassis and cab to be utilized by the Street Maintenance Division,a copy of the
bid documents is on file and by this reference made a part hereof, being the lowest and best bid
received,within the.bid specifications,be accepted and the purchase order be issued.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT,the Purchasing Agent be authorized to issue a purchase order to Cornhusker
Trux LLC for the purchase of one 54,000 GVW truck chassis and cab.
BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT,the Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of the purchase of one
