Application for Major Amendment to Special Use Permit
Applicant: Pappas Telecasting of the Midlands, a California Limited Partnership
Address: 4625 Farnam Street, Omaha,NE 68132

STATEMENT OF PROPOSED USE
Pappas Telecasting of the Midlands(herein"Applicant")operates two television stations at
4625 Farnam Street in Omaha, Nebraska. One station is the KPTM Fox 42 television station and
the other station is KXVO 15 WB, which is operated under a local marketing agreement. The
Applicant currently has a broadcast auxiliary tower with a total height of 199'on the west side of its
building. The applicant proposes to erect a new broadcast auxiliary tower further south on its
property toward its rear property line. After the new tower is constructed and in service, the existing
tower will be removed. This must be done to avoid any interruption in service.
The exact location of the new tower is shown on the site plan submitted herewith, but the
location of the new tower can generally be described as southwest of the southwest corner of the
Applicant's building. The total height of the new broadcast auxiliary tower to the tip of the
obstruction light is 368 feet. The distance from the new tower to the west property line will be 5
feet, and the distance from the new tower to the rear property line will be 15 feet. The tower will
appear generally as depicted on Exhibit A.
The purpose of the broadcast auxiliary tower is to connect the Applicant's studio to the
transmitter via microwave. The new tower needs to have an increased height for the Applicant's
digital build-out and for future expansion. The tower will comply with all FAA and FCC
requirements.
