The Resolution consents to the possession and consumption of alcoholic liquor on City property
during the "First Annual Taste of Omaha" at Heartland Park of America on June 12, 13 and 14,
1998.
Also appearing on the City Council agenda is a Special Designated Liquor License for this event.
Because the event will be held on public property, it is necessary that the City expressly consent to
possession and consumption of alcohol upon that property.

America, 8th & Farnam Streets. Area to be covered is on 8th Street between
Douglas and Farnam; and on Farnam Street west of 8th Street (see attached map) ,

inclement weather or a change of plans.
Pursuant to your request, permission is granted to barricade the above listed street(s) under the following

♦ Your assurance that all reasonable efforts have been made to accommodate all affected
residences and businesses. If the Traffic Engineering Division receives an objection from
any resident or business operator in the affected area, the permit will be held pending
information of your attempts to resolve the objection. If the objection cannot be resolved, a
determination will be made by the City on a case-by-case basis.
• There will be no cause for complaint with respect to disturbing the peace or littering of the area.
• Rides, games and concessions will be on private property unless proof of insurance is provided to
the Permits and Inspections Division.
It will be necessary that you furnish your own street barricades. These barricades must comply with the
City of Omaha Barricade Standards, Specifications, Methods, and Materials manual. In placing the
barricades,one(1) lane must be left open for police or fire emergency vehicles.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Section 53-186 of the Nebraska Liquor Control Act provides that
persons may not consume alcoholic liquors upon City property without the authorization of the local
governing body; and,
WHEREAS, Section 21-14 of the Omaha Municipal Code provides that no
intoxicating liquor can be possessed or consumed on any public property area owned or operated by
the City,except in such areas as may be designated by Resolution of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS,Greater Omaha Sports Committee,Inc., 12165 West Center Road,has
applied to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission for a license for the sale and consumption of
alcoholic liquor during the'First Annual Taste of Omaha"on City-owned 8th Street between Douglas
Street and Farnam Street and Farnam Street west of 8th Street to the parking garage entrance (see
attached map)on Friday and Saturday,June 12 and 13, 1998,from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on
Sunday,June 14, 1998,from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT,the City of Omaha authorizes and consents to the possession and consumption
of alcoholic liquor by persons attending the "First Annual Taste of Omaha"on the City-owned 8th
Street between Douglas Street and Farnam Street and Farnam Street west of 8th Street to the parking
garage entrance on Friday and Saturday,June 12 and 13, 1998,from 11:00 a.m.to 10:00 p.m. and
on Sunday,June 14, 1998,from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.
