The attached Resolution is submitted for your consideration.
The Resolution consents to the possession and consumption of beer on City property during an
outdoor music festival on August 15, 1998,at Levi Carter Park. The festival is sponsored by radio
station Z-92 and the liquor license will be held by the Nebraska Federation of Young Republicans.
Also appearing on the City Council agenda is a Special Designated Liquor License for this event.
Because the event will be held on public property, it is necessary that the City expressly consent to
possession and consumption of alcohol upon that property.

governing body. For the purposes of this section,the local governing body shall be the city or village within which the particular place for which the
special designated license is requested is located,or if such place is not within the corporate limits of a city or village,then the local governing body

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Section 53-186 of the Nebraska Liquor Control Act provides that
persons may not consume alcoholic liquors upon City property without the authorization of the local
governing body; and,
WHEREAS, Section 21-14 of the Omaha Municipal Code provides that no
intoxicating liquor can be possessed or consumed on any public property area owned or operated by
the City,except in such areas as may be designated by Resolution of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Nebraska Federation of Young Republicans has applied to the
Nebraska Liquor Control Commission for a license for the sale and consumption of beer on
City-owned property during an outdoor music festival at Levi Carter Park, 809 Carter Lake Shore
Drive,on August 15, 1998,from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT,the City of Omaha authorizes and consents to the possession and consumption
of beer on the City-owned property at Levi Carter Park, 809 Carter Lake Shore Drive,identified in
the Special Designated Liquor License issued to Nebraska Federation of Young Republicans for an
outdoor music festival on August 15, 1998.
