Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving the adoption of the attached Schedule "A" of repair
fees for sidewalks, pavement and curb cuts in the City of Omaha. The schedule is submitted in
accordance with Section 34-58 of the Omaha Municipal Code. The Public Works Department
proposes increasing the repair fee schedule to cover increased cost to the City for labor, materials
and equipment. The repair fee schedule was last updated to reflect costs of such repairs in 1996.
Two new fees have been added to handle work requested by utility companies or plumbers. One is
fee number 11: "Tent Hole Repair". The other new fee is number 12: "Backfill Inspection Only".
On average, the repair fees increased approximately 8.39% under this schedule not including the
degradation fee. With the degradation fee,a 16 square foot street cut in pavement that is greater than
five years old will increase by less than 1% over the same cut with a resurfacing surcharge as
charged, since the last change. This proposal eliminates that surcharge but adds a degradation fee,
which is added to the repair cost of concrete, bituminous or brick pavements depending on the age
of the pavement that has been cut. The degradation fee is not added to temporary asphalt work,
unimproved street repairs, sidewalk, driveway, and curb or tent hole charges.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached Resolution
and fee schedule.

BASIS OF MEASUREMENT A,YD ASSESSMENT:
• 1. All cuts shall be assessed to the nearest foot of completed repair.
2. Conaete pavement repairs shall be measured and assessed as follows:
a. Measurement shall be 6 inches beyond rough cut but in no case shall the dimension of the longitudinal or the transverse sides be less
than 4.0 feet.
b. Cuts accepted by the City during the period from December 1 to April 15,shall be assessed at a fee which is the sum of the fees for
'type 3 and type 4 pavement repairs as shown above. The fee for type 4 repair shall be for rough art size only.
3.Asphalt surface repairs on concrete base which are permanent and made between December 1 and April 15 will be charged at type 2
pavement repairs.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Section 34-58 of the Omaha Municipal Code authorizes the Public
Works Department to submit a schedule to the City Council for repair fees for cutting of pavement,
curb, and sidewalks; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has reviewed the existing repair fee
schedule for cutting of pavement, curb, and sidewalks and recommends that the repair fee schedule
be increased to cover the City's increased cost for labor,materials, and equipment; and,
WHEREAS,the repair fee schedule recommended by the Public Works Department
is detailed in the attached Schedule "A", which by this reference is made a part hereof
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT, the City Council does hereby approve and adopt the attached schedule of
repair fees, Schedule "A", for cutting of pavement, curbs and sidewalks which shall take effect
immediately for all permits applied for after the passage of this resolution.
