The document before you is a Plan Modification to the JTPA Welfare-To-Work (WtW)
Title IV Plan between the City of Omaha, grant recipient for the Greater Omaha SDA,
Job Training of Greater Omaha, and the State of Nebraska Department of Labor, Division
of Job Training, for the period of February 9, 1998, through September 30, 1999, in the
amount of$1,937,391.
The State of Nebraska has received a federal formula allotment for Program Year 1998
and this Plan Modification is necessary to increase the original amount of the grant by
$328,088, making the total WtW grant allocation $2,265,479.
Your favorable consideration of this Plan Modification is requested.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha has been designated by the State of Nebraska as the
Grant Recipient for Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) funds; and,
WHEREAS, the geographic area covered by this grant includes Douglas, Sarpy and
Washington counties; and
WHEREAS, The City of Omaha has entered into a contract with the State of
Nebraska under the Job Training Partnership Act(JTPA) for the period of February 9, 1998,through
September 20, 1999; and,
WHEREAS, under the said contract, Job Training will provide job readiness and
employment activities,job placement services, post-employment services,job retention and support
services, individual development accounts, client intake, assessment, eligibility determination,
individualized service strategies, and case management for eligible TANF participants; and,
WHEREAS,this Plan Modification is necessary because the State of Nebraska has
re-allocated federal formula allotment for Program Year 1998 that will increase the original amount
of the state match by$65,618.00 and the federal funds by$262,470.00 making the total WtW grant
allocation $2,265,479.00.
WHEREAS, the attached constitutes a Plan Modification pursuant to and in
conformance with the JTPA and has been accepted by the State of Nebraska; and,
WHEREAS,the Mayor recommends approval of this Plan Modification.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
• THAT, the Job Training of Greater Omaha WtW Plan Modification is hereby
approved to include an additional allocation of three hundred twenty eight thousand eighty-eight
dollars ($328,088.00).
