The attached Resolution authorizes Sanitary Improvement Districts, Torrey Pines, No. 384 and
Arbor Oaks, No. 418, to expend, for park improvements, an amount not to exceed $488,702.00,
including soft costs,and to accept the bid of Swain Construction Inc.to provide these improvements.
Approval will result in construction generally consisting of earthwork, concrete trails, basketball
court,picnic shelter, playground, storm water improvements, landscaping plantings and seeding.
By previous action, the City Council approved acquisition of this property and a public park.
Approval of this resolution provides the park facilities and amenities as illustrated in the park's
master plan.
Since this park serves both Torrey Pines and Arbor Oaks, the costs associated with this project,
including the soft costs, will be equally split between the two SID's.
Improvements for this park were authorized by the Park and Recreation Advisory Board at their
August 1998 meeting in an amount not to exceed$488,702.00. These improvements correspond to
the low base bid received which, including soft costs, totals $$488,702.00.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Sanitary and Improvement Districts No. 418, Arbor Oaks and No. 384,
Torrey Pines,owns public park property located at 148`h and Boyd Streets,to be utilized for park and
recreation purposes; and,
WHEREAS, Arbor Oaks and Torrey Pines is now requesting approval of the costs
for improvements to the park shared by these two Sanitary Improvement Districts; and,
WHEREAS, the project and costs in the amount of$488,702.00 were recommended
for approval by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board at their August, 1998 meeting;
and,
WHEREAS, the total cost of improvements;base bid and soft costs is $488,702.00;
and,
WHEREAS,the Parks,Recreation and Public Property Depai talent recommends that
the amount of$488,702.00 be approved; and,
WHEREAS, competitive bids were received by the District's Engineers; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended acceptance of this bid.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, park improvement costs in the amount of
$488,702.00, including soft costs, for park improvements in the public park shared by Sanitary and
Improvement Districts No. 418, Arbor Oaks, and No. 384, Torrey Pines, located at 148th and Boyd
Streets, are hereby approved.
