The attached ordinances constitute the Labor Agreements between the City and the Functional Union, and the City and CMPTEC. The recommended wage package for the CMPTEC unit and the Functional Union is: • 1998 - 1.5 percent across-the-board increase. 1999 - 3 percent across-the-board increase. 2000 - 3 percent across-the-board increase. In addition to the across-the-board increases, the ordinances also provide for the following significant changes: 1. A change in the injured-on-duty provisions to provide that any injured-on-duty pay received by the employee shall not exceed the after-tax salary of the employee. 2. The Rule of 85 will be changed to the Rule of 80 with minimum retirement age remaining at 55 years. 3. The 1.67% factor used to calculate pensions is increased to 2%. The estimated cost of increase in pension benefits is 4.7% of payroll to be paid as follows: • The City will contribute an additional .85% of employee's earnings; • The employee will contribute an additional .85% of his/her earnings,both beginning upon the legal execution of these labor agreements. There are additional ordinances attached to this letter that are applicable only to the Functional Union, which provide: • . j • ORDINANCE NO. 3 /4/ 1 - AN ORDINANCE to create Section 23-227 of the Omaha Municipal Code, entitled "Functional 2 employee seniority list.";to provide the Functional employees'representative a listing of all 3 Functional employees, along with the respective employee's date of original employment 4 with the City; and,to provide the effective date hereof 5 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: 6 Section 1. That Section 23-227 of the Omaha Municipal Code is created to read as follows: 7 Sec. 23-227. Functional employee seniority list. 8 The City will provide to the Functional employee's representative a 9 listing of all Functional employees, along with the respective 10 employee's date of original employment with the City. The City shall • 11 update this list on a yearly basis. 12 Section 2. That Section 23-227 of the Omaha Municipal Code as heretofore existing is 13 hereby created. 14 Section 3. This Ordinance,not being of legislative character,and in accordance with Section 15 2.12 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, shall be in full force and take effect 16 immediately upon the date of its passage.
