1 AN ORDINANCE to amend Section 22-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code entitled, "Optional

2 retirement."; to provide that any member who shall have attained the age of 55 and whose;
3 age plus years of service equals or exceeds 80 may retire with no reduction in service
4 retirement pension benefit; to repeal section 22-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code as
5 heretofore existing; and,to provide the effective date hereof.
6 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:

7 Section 1. That Section 22-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as

9 Sec. 22-30. Optional retirement.
10 On and after June 1, 1992, any member who shall have attained the 6,
11 age of 55 years, who shall .have completed at least five years of
12 service pursuant to the provisions of section 22-28 above, and who is
13 in'active service or on an approved sick leave may retire; however,
f14 the accrued service retirement pension shall be reduced eight percent
15 • per year prior to age 60 for immediate commencement;at age 60 with
16 five years of service, no reduction in retirement pension shall be
I 17 made. Also,on or after January 1, 1986,any member who shall have
18 attained the age of 55 years and whose age plus years of service
19 equals or exceeds $-5 80, may retire with no reduction in service
20 retirement pension benefit,after,the legal execution of the 1998-2000
21 labor agreement between the City and the Functional and CMPTEC
22_ employees.
23 Section 2. That Section 22-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code as heretofore existing is hereby
24 repealed.
