Transmitted herewith is a Bid Tabulation and a Resolution authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue
a purchase order to Cornhusker International Truck on the bid for the purchase of one 54,000 GVW
truck chassis and cab with a plow to be utilized by the Street Maintenance Division.
The following bids were received on February 10, 1999.

A copy of the bid documents is on file and available for inspection and review in the City Clerk's
office.
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form (CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with the
Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of the purchase of one 54,000 GVW truck
chassis and cab with a plow from the Street Maintenance Equipment Organization 1422, -19.98.

The Public Works Department recommends the acceptance of the bid from Cornhusker International
Truck, in the amount of$68,835.00, being the lowest and best bid received, and requests your
consideration and approval of this Resolution.

Cab, Chassis and Van Body complete, to be the latest current model of standard design
manufactured with rear dual wheels, complete with all standard equipment, tools, and warranty.

ENGINE:

MIRRORS:
Shall be equipped with right and left outside mounted (West Coast) type 7" x 16" minimum
mirrors,mounted on extension-type brackets. Shall have eight (8) inch round convex mirrors on

Allison Model MT643 four-speed automatic transmission, with torque converter Model TC370
and power take-off opening. To be equipped with heavy duty high capacity transmission oil
cooler mounted in front of radiator(approximate cooler size 12" x 24" x 1-1/2"). Shall also be
equipped with auxiliary transmission oil filter mounted in return line from oil cooler of
transmission. To have electric back up alarm installed.
FRAME:
Heavy duty frame channel fabricated with 50,000 P.S.I. steel, 18.3 section modules, 900,000
R.B.M. minimum or equal frame design.
Frame shall have 20" integral frame extension, double C channel.
BUMPER:
Vehicle to have standard front bumper.

BRAKES, SERVICE:
Hydraulic service brakes,with power assistance front and rear to be disc type. Parking brake
lever operated or spring set type. If brakes are ABS, vendor must supply scanner, chips and
books to Diagnostic test. If the unit is a self-test type, the Self-test unit must be approved by
Vehicle Maintenance Facility personnel.
FUEL TANK:
One(1) fifty (50) gallon minimum safety step-type, frame mounted right side. Minimum of
twenty-five (25) gallons of fuel when vehicle is delivered. Fuel tank shall not extend behind
back of cab.
TWO HOOKS:
Two (2) front tow hook frame mounted and shall be rated to a maximum G.V.W. rating of

LIFT GATE:
The following are minimum specifications for a van lift gate "installed." Unit bid shall be equal
to or better than an Eagle Lift Model E-49-91
Capacity: 1000 lbs. Minimum
Platform Size: 45" X 88" minimum with all steel diamond tread nonskid surface.
Platform Ramp: Ramp shall be designed for easy loading with a small incline
Power: 12-volt electric power driven hydraulic pump. Hydraulic system shall be
protected against overloading.

Lighting: Rear lights on truck shall not be obstructed by lift gate in stored position
All lift gate-mounting bolts shall be heat-treated grade five or better.
HITCH:
Shall have custom 10,000 lb. hitch. Shall be receiver type as not to interfere with the lift gate.
The hitch will be used to tow a 16,000 lb. trailer. To include receiver,pintlehitch lights,wiring
and brake controller installed.
WARRANTY:
The manufacturer's standard warranty shall apply and shall be in effect for one year from date of
satisfactory delivery of the Cab and Chassis,Van Box and Lift Gate.
DELIVERY:
Unit shall be delivered to local body company within a 110 day delivery time frame, complete
and ready to operate. To be completely serviced, greased and oil levels at manufacturer's
recommended capacity.
Bidders shall state delivery time on bid sheet. Bid will not be considered if time frame is —
deleted.

Shall be equipped with AM-FM radio. Mounted overhead.

Shall have dash mounted flush rocker style switch. The strobe light system shall be activated
and protected by a 20 amp breaker installed in fuse box. The strobe light is only to be activated
when the ignition key is in the "on" position. The system shall be protected by NAPA AR 272
accessory relay. If the vehicle is not equipped with a plug in, an adapter will have to be used.
No type of solenoid shall be used in the system. All strobe light wires are to be protected by
plastic loom covering. Base for strobe light shall be#210846. Must be junction at rear for an
additional light. Electric reverse alarm to be installed.
FUEL TANK:
One (1) Sixty Three (63) gallon safety type fuel tank, step type, frame mounted left side.
Minimum of twenty-five (25) gallons of fuel when unit is delivered. Fuel tank not to extend
behind back of cab.
CAB TO AXLE:
Cab to trunion measurement minimum 138 inches,maximum 140 inches. Unit shall be set back
__ axle design only. AF. minimum 53".
WHEEL BASE:
Wheel base minimum 202 inches, maximum 206 inches.
FRAME:
Heavy-duty frame channel fabricated with 110,000 P.S.I. steel, 30.0 section modules, 3,300,000
R.B.M. minimum.
Frame shall have a minimum of a twenty(20)inch integral front frame extension with C-channel
reinforcement for mounting of crankshaft driven hydraulic pump frame and plow frame.
Must have clean frame from cab to front of left and right front rear driving wheels.

MANUALS:
The following books and manuals will be required for each Series of vehicles. Price to be
included in vehicle prices.
If more than one type of vehicle are in the same manual (Example, one-half(1/2) ton, one-half
(1/2) ton 4 x 4, and three-fourth (3/4) ton Chassis and Cab) it will be considered one series and
the required manuals would be: -
One (1) Operators manual with each unit
And for each Series we will require:
One(1) Complete Parts Book
Two (2) Service/Maintenance Manuals on all components of unit

If engine is electronic, a scanner, chips and books must be included. One scanner,books and

PAINT:
The entire unit shall be primer with two coats rust resistant primer and shall be painted orange,

WARRANTY: -

GENERAL:
Truck mounted snow plows to be heavy duty all steel constructed, hydraulic reversible type with
full moldboard trip, to be the latest current model of standard design. Bidders are to supply full
description and descriptive materials on units bid with the proposal.
TYPE:
These specifications are for snow plow moldboard assemblies with hydraulic reversing push
frames only, designed to fit present City of Omaha truck mounted push frames and lifting
mechanisms. Delete caster wheels and skid shoes. No dealer decals.
MOLDBOARD:
Heavy duty type, designed for high speed operations.

REVERSIBLE PUSH FRAME:
Reversing push frames on new snow plows shall fit present City of Omaha front truck mounted
push frames. It shall be the responsibility of the successful bidder for delivering of snow plows
as per specifications that will mount to present City of Omaha truck mounted push frames.
See attached drawing for minimum requirements for snow plow push frame hookup.
HYDRAULIC REVERSING SYSTEM:
Hydraulic reversing system shall be equal to system presently used of City of Omaha snow
plows complete with hydraulic cylinders;hoses, cushion valve and quick couplers. Hydraulic
quick couplers shall be interchangeable with quick couplers 3/8 Aero Quip,Male#5602-6-65,
Female#5601-6-65.
MOUNTING:
Mounting of snow plows shall be by the successful bidder locally, cost of which shall not be paid
directly but shall be considered incidental to bid price. Units shall be mounted within ten(10)
days from delivery date.
All bolts to be heat treated grade eight (8)minimum. _
All bolts used for manufacture and mounting shall meet S.A.E. J 429 specifications.
PAINT:
Snow plows shall be primed with two coats of zinc chromate primer and shall be painted Dupont
Orange#83-876-DH.
PARTS LIST: -
Two (2) copies of parts list on all components of snow plows shall be provided with each unit.
