The attached Resolution is submitted at the request of the City Clerk.
The Resolution consents to the possession and consumption of alcoholic liquor on City property
during a reunion and memorial hog roast at Circo's Bar, 33rd and Harney Streets, on August 14,
1999, from 2:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Also appearing on the City Council agenda is a Special Designated Liquor License for this event.
Because the event will be held on public property, it is necessary that the City expressly consent to
possession and consumption of alcohol upon that property.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
•
WHEREAS, Section 53-186 of the Nebraska Liquor Control Act provides that
persons may not consume alcoholic liquors upon City property without the authorization of the local
governing body; and,
WHEREAS, Section 21-14 of the Omaha Municipal Code provides that no
intoxicating liquor can be possessed or consumed on any public property area owned or operated by
the City, except in such areas as may be designated by Resolution of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, Circo's Bar, 3231 Harney Street, has applied to the Nebraska Liquor
Control Commission for a license for the sale and consumption of alcoholic liquor on the City-
owned property on the sidewalk at 33rd and Harney Streets for a reunion and memorial hog roast on
August 14, 1999 from 2:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT,the City of Omaha authorizes and consents to the possession and consumption
of alcoholic liquor on the City-owned property at 33rd and Harney Streets, Omaha,Nebraska, in the
area authorized by a Special Designated Liquor License issue Circo's Bar for a reunion and
memorial hog roast on August 14, 1999.
