Attached is a Resolution requested by City Councilmember Cliff Herd.. The Resolution would call
for cooperative discussions between the City of Omaha and Douglas County and their respective 1

Resolved
WHEREAS, the interests of the citizens of Douglas County and the City of
Omaha would be served by greater efficiency and economy in local government
activities; and,
WHEREAS, cooperative discussions by Douglas County and the City of Omaha -
would show whether or not such efficiency and economy would be improved by the
consolidation of the respective vehicle maintenance and fleet management functions of
Douglas County and the City of Omaha; and, 1
WHEREAS, cooperative discussions should take place between Douglas
County and the City of Omaha and their respective departments and officials, to
investigate the merits of the consolidation of the respective vehicle maintenance and
fleet management functions of Douglas County and the City of Omaha.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS THAT, cooperative discussions should be held between Douglas
County and the City of Omaha and their respective departments and officers, to
investigate the merits of the consolidation of their respective vehicle maintenance and
fleet management functions.
Dated this 12th day of October, 1999.
Commissioner Boyle offered a friendly amendment to add in the third
"Whereas" after respective departments the phrase "and employees"
