CITY OF OMAHA LEGISLATIVE CHAMBER Omaha, Nebraska RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: WHEREAS, by virtue of Nebraska State Statutes, there now exists a Benson Business Improvement Area Board created by the City Council; and, WHEREAS, Section 19-4021 of the Nebraska Revised Statutes provides for the appointments to the Business Improvement Board to be made by the mayor, with approval of the city council; and, WHEREAS, Section 19-4021 of the Nebraska Revised Statutes provides further that the members of the Business Improvement Board shall consist of property owners, residents, business operators, or users of space within the business area to be improved; and, WHEREAS, Section 19-4022 of the Nebraska Revised Statutes provides that a Business Improvement Board shall consist of five or more members; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor would like to appoint Delilah J. Oliver to the Benson Business Improvement Area Board; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Omaha is being requested by Mayor Jean Stothert to appoint Delilah J. Oliver, Branch Manager at Bank of the West, located at 5901 Northwest Radial Highway, to be a member of the Benson Business Improvement Area Board to serve out the remainder of the term of Christopher Erickson who resigned. She finds being 14 forthright and sincere allows her to greatly support the company a' and mentor team members with an eye towards future growth l `and development Delilah actively worked with Council Bluffs Public Schools.She is dedicated to financial education in the community with an emphasis on enlightening our youth.Working with the S"Grade Career Fair,Teach Kids to Save, and establishing the Student Banking Program for Edison Elementary were important steps to forward that ambition. Delilah currently is a member of the Underwood Optimist Club and volunteers as Goal Buddy for P4K at Fontenelle Elementary in Omaha. She is passionate about the development of others and especially of children. Some of the issues she has worked through herself and with many youth is setting and attaining goals,how to be fiscally responsible early in life, and planning for the future. Delilah was raised in the Council Bluffs/Omaha metro and resides in Underwood, IA,a short commute to the Omaha area where her Kids, Grandchild and work family reside!
