The Law Department of the City of Omaha recently purchased a new copy machine to replace a very
old and worn out copy machine. The new copy machine is a Savin 9500.
After utilizing the new copy machine for a 90 day trial period with a 60 day return guarantee, the
Law Department has decided to retain the Savin 9500.
Attached is an Ordinance to approve a Maintenance Contract with J.Q. Office Equipment for the
Savin 9500 copy machine. This is in conformance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of
the City of Omaha.
The funds for this Maintenance Contract will be paid from Fund 001, Agency 050, Organization
0501, Object 4400.
Your approval of the attached Ordinance for said Maintenance Contract is requested.

AN ORDINANCE to approve a maintenance contract with J.Q. Office Equipment for the City of
Omaha Law Department,involving appropriations of more than one (1)year in conformity •
with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha; to provide for payment
from certain funds, and to provide for the effective date hereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
Section 1. That,as recommended by the Mayor, and in conformity with Section 5.17 of the
Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, approval is hereby given for a maintenance contract,
involving payments from appropriations of more than one(1) year with J.Q. Office Equipment for
services in connection with the use of a recently purchased Savin 9500 Copier. Said maintenance
contract figures are as follows: 19,615 copies per month for a 60 month term; cost per copy which
covers labor, materials,toner, and developer is .0092. 19,615 x .0092, or $180.46 x 60 months=
$10,827.60. Included therein is a 90-day warranty covering all items and a 60-day return/money
back guarantee. •
Section 2. That funds for this contract will be paid from Fund 001, Agency 050,
Organization 0501, Object 4400.

J. Q. Office Equipment agrees to provide preventive maintenance and service as per this agreement.
This agreement covers all service calls between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M.,Monday through
Friday. Any service calls not within this time frame will be handled on an individual basis.
This agreement is not transferable without written notice and acceptance by an authorized manager
of J. Q. Office Equipment. This agreement will automatically renew at the end of agreed term,unless
written notification is received thirty days prior to the end of term.
Key operator maintenance shall be performed by the buyer as per the machine requirements.
Failure to perform the maintenance may result in a charge call.
This agreement does not include repair caused by fire,water,physical abuse misuse or problems
caused by moving or transport. Accessories such as catch trays,cassettes,platen glass,platten
covers,or document feed belts are not included.
SERVICE AGREEMENT
FMAC FULL SERVICE AND SUPPLY BILLED MONTHLY IN ARREARS AT$.0092 PER COPY.
INCLUDES PARTS,LABOR,TRIP CHARGES AND SUPPLIES, AND STAPLES.
