years later. The resolution has been requested by Councilmember Lormong Lo, who is
nominating Mr. Humphries pursuant to Section 13-125(b) of the Omaha Municipal Code. A
copy of Mr. Humphries' resume is attached for your information.

Councilmember Lormong Lo requests that a resolution be prepared and placed on the City
Council agenda for Tuesday, January 25, 2000, to appoint Mr. Roger L. Humphries to the
Civil Rights Hearing Board as the Council District #1 representative. The term shall be for
three years, and shall be effective upon passage of the resolution.
The appointment shall be in accordance with City Code Sections 1 3-1 24 through 1 3-1 27.
The Law Department shall prepare a cover letter and resolution (with the attached
resume) and forward the documentation to the City Clerk for inclusion on the January
25th City Council agenda.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: •
WHEREAS, Section 13-123 of the Omaha Municipal Code created and
established a Civil Rights Hearing Board; and,
WHEREAS, there is a vacancy on the Civil Rights Hearing Board in the position
of at-large representative from Council District One; and,
WHEREAS, Section 13-125(b) of the Omaha Municipal Code empowers each
councilmember in turn to nominate a candidate as an at-large member of the Civil Rights
Hearing Board; and,
WHEREAS, Councilmember Lormong Lo, representing Council District One, has
determined to nominate Roger L. Humphries for appointment as an at-large member of the Civil
Rights Hearing Board, to serve a term commencing upon passage of this resolution and expiring
three years thereafter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the nomination and appointment by Councilmember Lormong Lo of
Roger L. Humphries as an at-large member of the Civil Rights Hearing Board from Council
District One, to serve a term commencing upon passage of this resolution and expiring three
years thereafter,be and hereby is confirmed and approved.
