Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for
Engineering Services with HDR Engineering, Inc. The original Agreement was adopted by
Resolution No. 2955 on November 9, 1999, and was for the design of a sludge line for the final -
clarifier at the Papillion Creek WWTP.
The Amendment adds the construction management responsibilities which will take place during
the construction of the improvement. A complete list of the services is detailed in Exhibit "1 A"
to the Amendment. All other terms of the original Agreement remain unchanged.
HDR has agreed to perform the services outlined in Exhibit "1A" of the Agreement for
$30,402.00. The costs incurred will be paid for from the Sanitary Sewer Improvement
Organization 1485, Agency 140, Sewer Revenue Fund 544.
HDR Engineering, Inc., has filed the required Annual Contract Compliance Report Form, CC-1,
in the Human Relations Department. As is City policy, the Human Relations Director will
review the consulting firm to determine its compliance with Ordinance 28885.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Resolution and Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement.

HDR Engineering, Inc. agrees to provide the scope of services defined in Exhibit 1A, Scope of
Services, Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, Pump Station, Clarifier and Plant Bypass
Modifications, Amendment 1 for the sum of$30,402.
An original Agreement between the City of Omaha and HDR for the design of the above
referenced project was adopted by the City Council by resolution No. 2955 on November 9,
1999. There are no changes in the original Agreement other than what is specifically listed in
Exhibit 1A, attached.

SCOPE OF SERVICES
PAPILLION CREEK WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
PUMP STATION, CLARIFIER AND PLANT BYPASS MODIFICATIONS
AMENDMENT 1
TASK SERIES 300-CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION
Task 310-Preconstruction Meeting. ENGINEER will attend the project pre-
construction meeting in support of the OWNER's project manager. Preparation of the
meeting agenda, facilitating the meeting, taking of meeting minutes, and distribution of
those minutes is the responsibility of the OWNER.
Task 320-Requests For Information/Change Proposal Request Evaluation.
ENGINEER will assist the OWNER in evaluating Requests for Information submitted by
the successful contractor during construction of the project. ENGINEER will also assist
the OWNER in evaluating the scope and cost of any Change Proposal Requests that arise
during the project construction.
Task 330-Construction Meeting Support. ENGINEER will attend the project
construction meetings in support of the OWNER's project manager. Preparation of the
meeting agenda, facilitating the meetings, taking of meeting minutes, and distribution of
those minutes is the responsibility of the OWNER. ENGINEER's project manager and
design disciplines will attend construction meetings as requested by OWNER.
Task 340-Submittal Review. ENGINEER will receive, log in, review, and take action
on project submittals including shop drawings, operation and maintenance manuals and
miscellaneous submittals required by the Contract Documents.
Task 350-Site Visits/Punch List. HDR will be available to make site visits at the
OWNER's request to resolve construction issues. Hours for such trips will be limited to
those shown in the detailed hour breakdown. HDR will also provide the design team to
perform a project punch list at the end of the project. Only one visit to the site for punch
list development is assumed.
Task 360-As-Recorded Drawings. ENGINEER will update the electronic files of the
original Contract Drawings based on the as-recorded drawings provided by the contractor.
ENGINEER will provide one CDROM containing an AutoCadd version 14 copy of the
as-recorded Contract Drawings and one full size reproducible set of as-recorded
drawings as final deliverables.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: •
WHEREAS, an Agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc., for the design of a
sludge line for the final clarifier at the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
was adopted by Resolution No. 2955 on November 9, 1999; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department would like to add Amendment No. 1
to the original Agreement which includes the construction management responsibilities during
the construction of the improvement; and,
WHEREAS, HDR Engineering, inc., has agreed to provide the construction
management services detailed in Exhibit "1A" of the Amendment to the original Agreement,
which by this reference becomes a part herein, for the sum of$30,402.00; and,
WHEREAS, this sum will be paid from the Sanitary Sewer Improvement
Organization 1485, Agency 140, Sewer Revenue Fund 544.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Engineering Services
between the City and HDR Engineering, Inc., for construction management services during the
construction of a sludge removal line for the final clarifier at the Papillion Creek WWTP is
hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay the sum of$30,402..00 from
the Sanitary Sewer Improvement Organization 1485, Agency 140, Sewer Revenue Fund 544.
