City of Omaha Public Works Director Hal Daub,Mayor • Honorable President and Members of the City Council, Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving a schedule of fees for the City of Omaha's Air Quality Control Operating Permit Program and the Asbestos Inspection Program. This program stems from the Federal Clean Air Act's Title V Program of 1990 which was adopted by the City Council by Ordinance No. 33102 in 1993. Title V allows fees to be charged for pollutant sources. A projection of the revenue obtained from the existing fee schedule shows a budget windfall in 2000 if the fees are not reduced. The EPA recommends that fees be changed by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) annually and to charge only for the actual costs of the program. This change is recommended in this resolution. This change was calculated to cover the 2000 budget, with the Emissions projected. The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached resolution and Fee Schedule.
