and Members of the City Council,
The purpose of the attached Resolution is to authorize the City to apply for feder
al assistance
under the National Recreation Trail program. Should a grant be approved, the City agrees to
fund 20% of all costs associated with the Lamp Park Trail, 110th and Lamp Street.
For this trail, the City of Omaha will provide planning, design, construction and management
services consistent with previous other trail developments.
This proposed trail section will run through Lamp Park and connect to the Big Papio Trail. The
trail will start at Leavenworth Street to the south and proceed north to Lamp Street. The total
project cost is estimated to be $150,000. The City's share would be $30,000. These funds are
available in the 2001-1996 Park Bond allocation.
Respectfully submitted,
r Larry N. Foster, Acting Director Date
