Sokol, 44,is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company. In February 1991, Sokol joined the Company as Chairman,President and Chief Executive Officer. At that time the Company owned and operated one geothermal power project, which it had developed and constructed. Sokol is co-chairman for Campaign Nebraska for the University of Nebraska Foundation; Chairman of the Metropolitan Omaha Convention, Sports and Entertainment Authority; Chairman of the Board of Governors,Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben; Chairman of the Omaha Airport Authority; and a member of the Creighton University Board of Directors. In addition, Sokol's community service includes board memberships, as well as participation and support of many philanthropic efforts including: College World Series of Omaha,Inc.; Strategic Command Consultation Committee; River City Roundup and Rodeo; Joslyn Art Museum; Nebraska Easter Seal Society; Mount Michael Abbey High School;Archdiocese of Omaha; Girls, Inc.; Mid-American Council,Boy Scouts of America; and United Way of the Midlands.
