Enterprise Zone Board. South Omaha has an abundance of untapped human and
economic resources. I expect that my previous community service experience will suit
the needs of the Board well. I have volunteered and/or worked in South Omaha
Organizations and Churches for over 20 Years,
I have one addition to my resume, I am currently working with ABM Enterprises,
publishers of Directorio Latino a(Spanish Language Yellow Pages), Vision Latina
(Spanish/English Magazine) and El Perico (Spanish Classified Ads. ABM is located at
4923 South 24th St.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the State of Nebraska approved the City of Omaha's application for
Enterprise Zone designation on June 20, 1994, pursuant to the Nebraska Enterprise Zone Act;
and,
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
approved the City of Omaha's application for Enterprise Community designation on December
21, 1994,pursuant to federal legislation; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Strategic Plans included in such applications, an
Enterprise Zone Board was appointed to perform the duties specified in such federal and state
Plans; and,
WHEREAS, several seats on such Board are open; and,
WHEREAS, Neb Rev Stat 13-2109-(2) and the federal and state Strategic Plans
now provide for the appointment of members by the City Council to fill vacant or open seats on
the Enterprise Zone Association Board; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council, at the recommendation of Councilmember Koneck,
has nominated Roger Ramirez to serve a three year term on the Enterprise Zone Board
commencing on January 23, 2001 and ending on January 22, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, attached hereto is the resume of Roger Ramirez; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Omaha to make
such nomination and appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
