The attached Resolution, requested by Councilmember Paul Koneck, would express support for
the amendment to Legislative Bill 142 (the municipal county merger bill) as set forth in the
attached Attachment 2.

(Amendments to Standing Committee amendments, AM0226)
1 1. Insert the following new amendment:
2 "2. On page 3, strike beginning with 'The' in line 2
3 through the period in line 6 and insert 'The coieeion shall have

5 municipalities involved, selected by the governing bodies. I(!

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Legislative Bill 142 (the municipal county merger bill) is now
• pending before the Nebraska Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, there is now an amendment to Legislative Bill 142 now pending
before the Nebraska Legislature, as described in the attached Attachment 2; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Omaha wishes to express its support
for the latter amendment to Legislative Bill 142.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the City Council of the City of Omaha supports an amendment to
Legislative Bill 142 (the municipal county merger bill) now pending before the Nebraska
Legislature that revises page 3, lines 2 through 6 thereof as indicated in the attached Attachment
2.
