Transmitted herewith is a Bid Tabulation and a Resolution authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue
a purchase order to United Rentals on the bid for the purchase of three vibratory walk behind rollers
to be utilized by the Street Maintenance Division.
The following bids were received on December 21, 2000.

Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of the purchase of three vibratory walk behind
rollers from the Street Maintenance Equipment Organization 1422, Street and Highway Allocation
Fund 103, Agency 140, year 2001 funding.

GENERAL:
Machine shall be of the latest current model of standard design, complete with all standard
equipment and tools. All components shall be designed to be compatible as recommended by the
manufacturers. Bidders are to furnish full description and descriptive materials on unit bid with the
bid. Unit shall be fully operational and meet or surpass the following minimum requirements.
TYPE:
Machine shall be walk behind steel drum type asphalt roller.
ENGINE:
Engine shall be Honda 11 H.P. with rope type recoil and electric start. Shall have 1 1/2 gallon gas
tank. To have battery and charge system. Battery to be mounted to protect from vibration.
STEERING:

1. S 1 Sunstrand hydrostatic.
2. Single lever/forward-reverse.

If warranty work is not available within the Metro area, the vendor will be responsible for any cost
including transportation.

The vendor must be able to provide warranty work within 24 hours of the break down. If there is
no local dealer the vendor must locate and provide work within the 24-hour time frame.
The vendor must be able to provide parts within 24 hours of break down. If shipping be air is
needed, the dealer will be responsible for any additional cost.
DELIVERY:
Unit to be delivered to the City of Omaha, Vehicle Maintenance Facility, at 2606 North 26th Street,
fully serviced to recommended new vehicle specifications.
If the vendor is not in the City of Omaha area, the City will not be responsible for any cost from
pickup or the delivery of any vehicle or mounted equipment.

WHEREAS, United Rental submitted a bid of $22,725.00, being the lowest and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

THAT, the bid of $22,725.00 from United Rental for the purchase of three
vibratory walk behind rollers to be utilized by the Street Maintenance Division, a copy of the bid
documents is attached and by this reference made a part hereof, being the lowest and best bid
