Transmitted herewith is a Resolution authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order
to the Metropolitan Utilities District to pay for gas main and water main replacement/moving
costs for RNCL 5790B which is a combined sewer renovation in the Lake James to Fontenelle
Park area.
A Resolution to approve the construction of RNCL 5790B is being submitted concurrently. The
Public Works Department recommends that bidding procedures be waived in accordance with
Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956 for unique or single-source items.
Supplier Cost
Metropolitan Utilities District $76,000.00
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost, in the amount of$76,000.00 from the year
2001 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Sewer Separation Organization 1490, Agency 140, Sewer
Revenue Improvement Fund 544.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Resolution.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the City is currently in the process of authorizing the construction of
RNCL 5790B which is a combined sewer renovation in the Lake James to Fontenelle Park area;
and,
WHEREAS, gas and water lines will have to be replaced and/or moved during
construction; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.16 of the Home rule Charter states that competitive
bidding will not be required when purchasing unique or single-source items; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Utilities District has agreed to do the necessary
work for the sum of$76,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the Metropolitan Utilities District is authorized to do the utility work
required to allow the construction of RNCL 5790B which is a combined sewer renovation in the
Lake James to Fontenelle Park area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to issue a purchase order for
$76,000.00 from the Sanitary Sewer Improvement Sewer Separation Organization 1490, Agency
140, Sewer Revenue Improvement Fund 544.
