Attached is a Resolution requested by Marc Kraft for the re-appointment of City Council
Member Frank Brown as Commissioner of the Omaha Housing Authority of the City of Omaha
for a full four(4) year term.
His present term expired on June 11, 2001 and his new four (4) year term will commence on
June 11, 2001 and expire on June 6, 2005.

DETAILS:
Council President Marc Kraft requests a resolution on a supplemental agenda for May 22,
2001 , appointing Councilmember Frank Brown to the Omaha Housing Authority Board for a
four year period beginning on June 1 1 , 2001 . Mr. Brown will fill a City Council vacancy as .
provided for in Neb. Rev. Stat. Section 71-1524(1).

Attached for your information is a copy of the September 15, 1998 resolution and cover
letter that originally appointed Mr. Brown to the OHA Board. His current term expires on
June 11 , 2001 .

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the provisions of Section 71-1519 R.R.S. Nebraska, 1943, as
amended, authorize the City of Omaha to create a Housing Authority; and,
WHEREAS, the provisions of Section 2-232 of the Omaha Municipal Code create
such a Housing Authority; and,
WHEREAS, the present term of Frank Brown as Commissioner of the Omaha
Housing Authority will expire June 11, 2001; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Section 71-1524 R.R.S.
Nebraska, 1943, as amended, the City Council may appoint one of its members to serve as one of
the five commissioners of the Omaha Housing Authority; and,
WHEREAS, after review and careful consideration, the City Council wishes to
re-appoint City Council Member Frank Brown as a Commissioner of the Omaha Housing
Authority for a term commencing June 11, 2001 and ending on the expiration of the new term of
the City Council on June 6, 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the re-appointment of Frank Brown to serve as a Commissioner of the
Omaha Housing Authority in accordance with the terms and conditions of the laws of the State
of Nebraska and the City of Omaha, for a term commencing June 11, 2001 and ending June 6,
2005, is hereby confirmed; and this Resolution as filed with the City Clerk shall certify and be
conclusive evidence to the due and proper appointment of such Commissioner.
